    MISS GLADYS TILSE.

    There passed away, after a long and painful illness, at the residence of her parents, Walsh-street, Mareeba, Gladys Irine, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Tilse, and sister of Lew, Len, Roy, Ethel, Irwin and Jean. She was the granddaughter of Mrs. M. H. Tilse, a very old resident of the town, also the neice of Miss E. J. Harris, Mrs. Loughrey and Mr.

    J. Harris (Cairns). The funeral; which was largely attended by relatives and friends, moved from the residence of her parents to St George's Church of England, where an impressive service was held by Rev. K. Campbell, who also conducted the last sad rites at the graveside. The deceased young lady was born in Boulder City, West Australia, and was 26 years old; she came with her parents some years ago to Mareeba, where they have resided ever since; she was of a retiring disposition and loved by all who knew her.
